DFO advises that the fixed gear herring fishery, for vessels using gillnets and traps, in that portion of Herring Fishing Area 11, Fortune Bay,(east of Pass Island), will open at 6:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 10, 2009.

Fish harvesters are reminded that Dockside Monitoring is a requirement for this fishery and arrangements have to be made to ensure all landings are monitored by a Dockside Observer.
