DFO advises fish harvesters that the 2J3KL Stewardship Cod Fishery will open in the following areas on Monday, September 7 at 6 a.m.:

• Labrador (NAFO Division 2J)
• Northern Penninsula (Cape Bauld - Little Harbour Deep)
• White Bay (Little Harbour Deep - Cape St. John)
• Notre Dame Bay (Cape St. John - Burlington)
• Notre Dame Bay (Glovers Harbour - Musgrave Harbour)
• Notre Dame Bay (Deadman's Bay - Cape Freels)
• Bonavista Bay (Cape Freels - Cape Bonavista)
• Trinity Bay (Cape Bonavista - Grates Point)
• Conception Bay (Grates Point - North Head/Petty Harbour)
• Southern Shore (North Head/Petty Harbour - Cape Race)

Fish harvesters must renew their groundfish licence and pay a cod individual quota (IQ) fee and arrange at-sea observer coverage services prior to fishing. Fish harvesters are reminded to fish within their homeport area, as outlined in licence conditions.

Compliance with management measures is essential for the success of this fishery. This will include the completion and return of logbooks.
