DFO advises that due to high by-catch of cod, the directed fishery for Winter Flounder (Blackback) in that portion of NAFO Division 3L within one mile of the coastline from the western point of Indian Arm north to the government wharf in Open Hall, Bonavista Bay will close at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, August 7, 2009.

This closure applies to winter flounder fishing areas 7 as outlined in Appendix 1 of licence conditions.

All gear must be removed from the water by closing time.
