DFO advises that the fixed gear mackerel fishery in Mackerel Fishing Areas 10 and 11 (Placentia Bay and Fortune Bay) will open at 6:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 1, 2009.

Fish harvesters are reminded that dockside monitoring is a requirement for this fishery in 2009.
